Cleaning beaches and building connections

In October, our HR and Facilities team in Bangladesh visited the Bay of Bengal for its annual retreat, an opportunity to regroup, strengthen connections and align on priorities. As part of a commitment to responsible travel, our colleagues started the trip by leading a beach clean along Cox’s Bazar, the world’s longest natural sea beach.
The team focused on removing litter and restoring the natural setting of the coast, improving the environment for both people and local wildlife. The clean-up drew interest from visitors and local children, several of whom joined in. Their participation highlighted how small acts can encourage wider community engagement and spark conversations about environmental responsibility.
The initiative demonstrated how employee-led actions support Intertek’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, while also helping to build relationships and bonds between colleagues.
