After flash floods devastated parts of Central Texas, USA, in July, communities from across the region came together to collect emergency supplies for victims and volunteers helping with search and recovery efforts.

With many people displaced from their homes and left without belongings, hygiene supplies were in urgent demand. Additionally, volunteers searching through flooded areas in the Texan summer heat had a critical need for items like sunscreen, spare clothing and bug spray.

Feeling the deep impact of the tragedy, colleagues from our Intertek San Antonio Automotive Research laboratory collected eight boxes of emergency and hygiene of supplies for victims and those bravely helping in Kerrville, one of the worst affected cities. To maintain safety and reduce the number of vehicles using the roads, all supplies were taken to a designated drop-off point for delivery to the local agencies directly supporting with relief efforts.

During a time where many suffered tremendous losses, community initiatives like this brought people and businesses together to make a meaningful difference.
