Our Geleen laboratory in the Netherlands has been the site of several environmental impact initiatives over the last few years, from switching to renewable power to upgrading its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.

In 2025, this trend continued with the transition of the laboratory’s fleet of company vans to more sustainable electric and hybrid alternatives. The initiative kicked off in January with the construction of a new EV charging park, followed by the introduction of several hybrid and fully electric vehicles in June. The majority of existing vans were then replaced with fully electric models in July.

More than 90% of company vans at the Geleen laboratory are now low or zero-emission vehicles. This renewed fleet is expected to achieve a year-on-year emissions reduction of approximately 50% compared to the 2024 reporting period.

The remaining diesel vehicles at the laboratory will be gradually replaced by plug-in hybrids, enabling us to maximise carbon reductions while maintaining operational efficiency. In addition to our owned vehicles, almost all our privately leased cars have been fully electric for some time now.
